This Halloween season Johnny Strange brought the Fright Night Freakshow to Cursed, Essex’s number 1 scare attraction.
For October, Wat Tyler Country Park’s 125 acres of stunning parkland in the heart of the south Essex marshes, was transformed into a adrenaline fuelled award-winnging Halloween fright night experience for the fifth year running.
Attractions such as Toy Sop, Pig Pen, Arachnid, Cell 13, The Nag Inn, FestEvil and WorkChop are back by popular demand with the newest attraction, Amphi-Fear-ter, being added as the newest attraction to line up; a full carnival freak show experience with sword swallowers, contortionists, fire eaters and more.
Johnny Strange has just finished performing at the luxurious Leeds Castle, which over the years has been called home by the likes of Edward I and Henry VIII.
Dubbed “the loveliest castle in the world”, Leeds Castle boasts it’s own Falconry, Hedge Maze and Grotto, and was the ideal picturesque setting for this exclusive Masquerade Ball.
Along with Daredevil stunts, stilt walkers, fire eaters and a classical orchestra, they also organised a private airshow from a Spitfire jet. Guests enjoyed Champagne delivered by ladies in dresses surrounded by champagne glasses as they dined in one of the castles great halls.
Johnny Strange’s Theatre of Wonder recently hit the seaside town of Great Yarmouth. Sword swallowing, fire dancing, the bed of nails, pierced weight lifting, glass eating and much, much more featured in this theatre spectacle.
With the sideshow siren, Eve Elle, making her debut appearance in the show – she performs stunts so dangerous your mother would slap you for even thinking about them and has a fire routine so hot she could make the devil sweat.
She also has nerves of steel as Johnny performed one of his signature stunts and chainsawed an apple in half held in-between her teeth, pictured.

In 2013 Johnny Strange set the world’s first official Guinness World Record for ‘The most animal traps released on the body in one minute’.
Strange had the steel jaws of six (6) vintage animal traps snapped onto his body in one minute without injury, this amazing stunt earned him entry into the 60th anniversary edition of the Guinness Book of Records, you can see his record in the ‘No Pain, No Gain’ section of the 2015 book (page 118).
Each trap that snapped onto Johnny’s hands and arms were vintage leg-hold traps, traps designed to catch and hold an animal until the trap setter returns to release the trap.
It seems there’s a day to celebrate everything; World Hugging Day (21st Jan), International Talk Like A Pirate Day (19th Sept), National Pizza Party Day (15th May) and of course – International Sword Swallowers Day.
It’s that time of year again, the day once a year where sword swallowers from around the world simultaneously demonstrate their unusual skills. Held on the last Saturday every February at 2:28pm, in conjunction with National Swallowing Disorders Month, sword swallowers participate in “the big swallow”.
This year Johnny Strange performed various sword swallowing stunts at EventCity, Manchester, to celebrate International Sword Swallowing Day 2015. He performed in Dr. Phantasma’s 10 in 1 travelling Illusion Show who holds host to classic sideshow illusions from around the world such as “the giant bat”, “the man eating chicken”, “the infamous blade box”, “the girl with no middle” and more.
