Johnny Strange headed over to Fife in Scotland this week to perform for the folks over at Stagecoach Group.
Coming back to entertain for the second year running, this time Johnny brought Eve Elle to double the danger.
The daring duo performed stunts with broken glass and swords, enough to make your eyes water. From target whip cracking to scaling the ladder of swords this show was a marriage between danger and grace.
The Theatre of Wonder headed over to the Liverpool Tattoo Convention this year, bringing all kinds of weird and wacky stunts with them.
Johnny Strange was back at the Liverpool Tattoo Convention this year and this time he brought some friends. Last month Johnny Strange returned to Hungary to perform at the 2017 International Budapest Tattoo Convention.
Once again, returning for the 4th time in as many years, Johnny Strange entertained audiences with death defying acts – even enlisting the help of an audience member to pull a swallowed sword out of his throat.
The audience member who joined him on stage, coincidentally happened to have a tattoo of a sword swallower on her left shoulder!
It’s International Sword Swallowers Day; yes, believe it or not we actually have a day dedicated to it!
Once again, every year like clockwork, sword swallowers around the world flock to Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Museums to demonstrate the ancient art of sword swallowing.
This daring feat has been around for hundreds of years, being mentioned as far back as 410AD, however as it is so dangerous there are currently less than 60 active sword swallowers alive in the world today, making it a very rare art form.
Johnny Strange spent the afternoon speaking with James Whale live on BBC Radio Kent about this amazing feat and what exactly International Sword Swallowers Day is all about.
Johnny Strange recently got up close and personal with a chainsaw on Dutch TV show, Wedden Dat Ik Het Kan.
Johnny Strange was invited to perform on SBS6’s TV show Wedden Dat Ik Het Kan, the Dutch version of TV show “Go For It!” (UK) and “Challenge Me!” (USA). Strange teamed up with hosts Sylvie Meis and Jeroen van der Boom to perform a variation of one of his death defying stunts with a chainsaw.
Against the clock he had to chainsaw as many apples out of his mouth in just one minute, this dare devil challenge was featured in the 3rd season of the show.
Last year Johnny Strange took part in a documentary on sword swallowing.
The documentary, filmed by the Russian TV show Hayka 2.0 (which roughly translates into Science 2.0) was filmed at the largest Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! museum in the world, Ripley’s, London. It covered all aspects of sword swallowing including technique, weaponry, and health and safety – with interviews from leading experts in the field, including weapons experts, doctors and of course, Johnny Strange.
